Brandon Thyen Files For Chisago County Sheriff

It would be my privilege if you would consider voting for me to be your sheriff. Your county leaders believe in me, they unanimously appointed me to be your current sheriff on May 5, 2018.

I am married to my wife Kelly of 19 years, we have two children Grace, 16, and Drake, 13 years old. We’ve lived in Chisago County since 1999 when I was hired by the Sheriff’s Office.

As your current sheriff, I bring 21 years of law enforcement experience including 14 years of past proven budget experience, and administrative positions within the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office. This experience comes from being the jail administrator for 12 years, overseeing the budgets of the 911 emergency communications center and the jail. After being appointed chief deputy, I assisted with the budgets of all the divisions of the Sheriff’s Office. As your sheriff, I will continue to operate in a fiscally responsible manner.

My priorities are: to create safer roads through traffic enforcement and address the distracted driver problem; ensure school safety and security; promote drug awareness, education, and enforcement, which are critical. I will also ensure there is a consistent partnership with organizations in our community that seek to understand and build actionable plans to provide mental health support to both the public and our inmates.

I believe in a strong partnership between the community and this office. That’s why community involvement and transparency is so important. As your sheriff, I will develop and implement more programs to connect this office to our community.

These are some of the initiatives I’m currently working on as your sheriff and I will continue to work on if elected this fall. Please feel free to contact me at 651-802-2358 or thyenforsheriff@gmail.com.
